Dioscorides [De materia medica 2.159] dicit quod Saraceni, quando de novo colligitur, illud ponunt in clibano, et sic torrent, ut virtus germinativa a pipere auferatur, ne in aliis partibus valeat fructificare aut iterum pullulare.

The Subjunctive Mood may be used in a clause denoting purpose.  It is introduced by ut, uti, qui or quo, or with ne in a negative purpose clause.

Translate each of the purpose clauses below, translating ut as "so that" or "so that...might" and ne as "so that...not."
